Procedure of Identification at gov.gr via Piraeus e-banking Credentials

The Greek State has created the website gov.gr which offers citizens an ever-expanding group of online services.

Login to the gov.gr can be done via Piraeus e-banking credentials for the Solemn Declaration and Authorization services. So you can, easily and quickly, issue electronically, a valid solemn declaration and an authorization letter, without visiting a Citizens' Service Centre (KEΠ) or a police station, to certify the authenticity of your signature.

If you do not have Piraeus e-banking credentials you can register online. The only condition is that you must have an active debit card in your possession and have declared your mobile phone to Piraeus Bank. So you can easily, in just a few minutes, register online for Piraeus e-banking credentials.

How does it work

The procedure you need to follow to issue the necessary documents is easy and quick.

    1. When the citizen is requested to be identified, you choose to do so through Piraeus Bank.
    2. You are transferred to the secure environment of the winbank web banking service, where you have to enter the username and password you use to log in to Piraeus e-banking, as well as the extraPIN code that you will receive via sms.
    3. At this point, you will be notified for the transfer of your information to the gov.gr. The details to be transmitted are: full name, VAT number and extraPIN mobile. The transmission of these data is done for reasons of intersection with those observed in gov.gr. and is completely safe.
    4. You have completed the process of identification so you can issue the documents you need.
