Features

The prepaid visa card, which is utilized for the credit of the allowances that the Ministry of Labour, Social security and Welfare establishes, is a reloadable, chip & pin contactless plastic card, that offers contactless transactions.

The card is loaded with the amount of the allowance entitled to each cardholder, according to the ministry instructions and can be reloaded by the cardholder or by a third party from the available channels of the Bank:

  • via Piraeus e-banking, Piraeus app & Piraeus phone banking
  • to Piraeus bank’s cashiers
  • through ATM via debit card

Its maximum load limit is €2,500 per day and the maximum balance on the card is €10,000

Transactions

The card can be used for transactions in both physical and electronic stores (e-shops) or telephone orders, wherever Visa is accepted, in Greece and abroad, until the exhaustion of the available balance, while in accordance with the requirements set by the Ministry, the unload to a bank’s account or cash advance at ATM’S is not allowed. The Piraeus Prepaid Reloadable Card also accepts refunds if you need to return products you have bought using it.

It is easy to manage your card (load, monitor transactions, set/change PIN, block/unblock or card activation) in real time, 24/7/365:

  • Log into Piraeus e-banking, Piraeus app
  • Log into Piraeus phone banking (except for set/change PIN)
  • Call at 210 32 88 000 (for card balance enquiries, mini-statement, card activation & set/change PIN)
  • Use ATMs for card balance enquiries, mini-statement with the last 8 transactions of card, card activation and card load via debit card

How you receive it

The card is issued in the name of the beneficiary, according to the instructions of the Ministry of Labour, Social security and Welfare.

  • The card is mailed as inactive, to the address that the beneficiary stated at his application to receive the allowance, accompanied by a letter with instructions for its activation.
  • The card can be activated 24/7/365 via ATM, or via Piraeus e-banking, Piraeus app or via phone call at +30 210 32 88 000 from Greece and abroad.
  • The Personal Identification Number (PIN) of the card is sent to the same address, by registered mail.
