How do I get the debit card?
To get a debit card, you need to get an AB Plus Mastercard Debit:
- You must already have an account with Piraeus Bank, otherwise you must first open an account with Piraeus Bank
- You must be already a holder of the AB Plus points collection card from the AB Vassilopoulos supermarkets and present it at the store, as well as the AB Plus barcode is printed on the back of the AB Plus Mastercard Debit card.
Υou can issue your AB Plus Mastercard Debit card through Piraeus e-banking or Piraeus app, without visiting a bank branch.
Alternatively, visit any Piraeus Bank branch, presenting your AB Plus card and ask for the AB Plus Mastercard Debit card to be issued.
- Within a few minutes you will first receive the personal PIN code of your AB Plus Mastercard Debit card, while you will receive your AB Plus Mastercard Debit card with the AB Plus barcode printed on the back, after a few days at the store or at your mailing address
- After receiving your AB Plus Mastercard Debit before using it for purchases, you must make a transaction at any ATM using your PIN, e.g. Balance enquiry, Change PIN, Amount transfer, Cash withdrawal or Mini Statement (except deposit), before using it for purchases in physical stores.

If you are a customer of Piraeus Bank, it is possible that the identification documents you have submitted to us may be missing or not valid due to their age. In this case, you will have to provide us with the necessary documents in order for us to update them.
How can I set/change my PIN via Piraeus e-banking & Piraeus app?
- You can set or change your card PIN electronically, instantly and securely. After logging into Piraeus e-banking with your passwords or logging into the Piraeus app, select the debit card on which you want to set a new PIN. Once you have set the PIN of your card, you will need to make a transaction (balance inquiry, withdrawal) at any ATM in Greece or abroad in order to activate the new PIN.
How can I convert a transaction I made with my debit card via Piraeus e-banking & Piraeus app into installments?
- From the menu select Cards > Debit Cards > select the card you want > Convert to Installments. From the available transactions, you select the one you want to convert into installments, the number of installments, you are informed about the conversion cost, you take note of the pre-contractual information, you are informed and accept the terms and follow the confirmation and completion steps. You are then informed immediately of the outcome of your application.
How can I manage my debit card via Piraeus e-banking & Piraeus app?
- From the menu Cards > Debit Cards > select the card you wish to use and then from the Settings > Card Usage Management. You can manage ATM withdrawals, internet purchases, contactless purchases at POS in Greece and abroad. In addition, from the Edit card limits section you can change the daily limit for purchases and withdrawals of your card.
How can I activate my card?
Debit card activation via e-banking
- from Piraeus e-banking select: Cards > My Debit Cards and select the card to be activated
- from the Piraeus app select the debit card to be activated from the section of Cards.
You then enter your card's CVV, set the card's PIN where required and proceed to strong customer authentication (SCA) to complete the transaction.
To use the new card, follow the instructions given on the card carrier, depending on the reason for issuing the card (e.g. new card issue, re-issue, renewal).Debit card activation via ATM
- Insert your card at the ATM and follow the steps you are asked to take (ask for a balance or withdraw).
- Your card has been activated for all transactions.
Debit card activation via telephone service
Call 210 38 98 989 and follow the instructions provided by the automated Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system.
How can I collect expenses through electronic means of payments?
- You can collect expenses by using Piraeus Bank credit, debit and prepaid cards as well as by making electronic payments through Piraeus e-banking, Piraeus app and Piraeus phone banking.
