At Piraeus Bank, we harmonise our activities in all areas of operation with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the Principles of Responsible Banking. To this end, we implement a multidimensional Corporate Social Responsibility policy, at the core of which is EQUALL - For A Society of Equal People.
The EQUALL programme aims at developing actions targeted at creating equal opportunities for a society of equal people, free of discrimination and exclusion, free of stereotypes and all forms of violence against vulnerable social groups.
The programme is developed around four pillars, constantly being enriched and expanded with new actions. Today these pillars are:
1. Gender equality
2. Children’s welfare
3. New Generation
4. Vulnerable Social Groups
Aim of the programme
Actions
The programme’s actions are centred around education, training, and skill acquisition and enhancement, creating for all equal opportunities for development, progress, and self-sufficiency in conditions of dignity and respect.
Piraeus Bank is the first Greek bank to sign the Women’s Empowerment Principles of the UN Global Compact and UN Women, making specific commitments to develop actions that will strengthen and promote Gender Equality. In addition, Piraeus Bank was included for the second consecutive year in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) 2023, which tracks and evaluates the performance of companies that are committed to data transparency regarding the implementation of policies and actions they develop for Gender Equality.
