Awareness raising actions for the environment 

Piraeus Bank steadily invests in actions that raise awareness of environmental protection, aiming to create a sustainable culture that starts with the younger generations and extends to the entire society. Contributing to the achievement of the objectives set by UNESCO’s global campaign Partnership for Green Education, to which Greece has joined, Piraeus Bank supports the expansion of Eco-Schools, the international Environmental Education Network. To this end, it cooperates with educational institutions encouraging students to develop ecological awareness and adopt sustainability practices. Students participate in hands-on activities and workshops that bring them into contact with the importance of recycling, energy saving, and rational management of resources, thus fostering a sense of responsibility for the environment.

Supporting students in areas such as Evros and Thessaly, which have been affected by natural disasters that dramatically impacted their daily lives, is a priority for Piraeus Bank.  Through the Looking to Tomorrow action, 1,011 students from these regions were supported to handling consequences and moving on to the next day, leaving behind the feeling of insecurity that had emerged. 

With these actions, Piraeus Bank contributes to building a better tomorrow, investing in education and awareness about the environment and laying the foundations for a society that respects and cares for its natural wealth. By being a model of environmental responsibility, the Bank aims at inspiring the younger generation and fostering values that promote sustainability and positive change for decades to come.
