Actions for the Culture
Piraeus Bank connects with the culture and historical heritage of Greece through a series of actions aimed at promoting and enhancing the country’s cultural wealth. In recent years, we have been supporting important cultural events, actively contributing to the preservation and dissemination of historical and artistic tradition.
Piraeus Bank actively participated in the celebration of the Bicentennial of the Greek Revolution, supporting various commemorating activities that illuminated the struggle for independence and freedom. Through programmes and events, Piraeus Bank promoted research for the understanding of history, highlighting the importance of the Revolution in the formation of the modern Greek state.
In addition, Piraeus Bank, in cooperation with prestigious institutions and personalities in Science and Culture, commemorated the Centennial of the Asia Minor Catastrophe and the signing of the Treaty of Lausanne on population exchange (1923), by producing publications and exhibitions that highlighted the impact of these events on Hellenism, contributing to the preservation of historical memory and the enrichment of research on this decisive period of history for Hellenism.
