How do I install the Piraeus app?

Download the Piraeus app from App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) or App Gallery (Huawei) by typing Piraeus app and click Get (iOS) or Install (Android) or Install (Huawei).

I forgot / blocked my Piraeus e-banking password

If you have activated the SMS extraPIN feature and you know your username but don't remember your password, you can reissue your password by starting the process from here.

In any case, password reissuance continues to be provided through the bank's branch network.

How to add a card

Set up Google Wallet in a few easy steps:

Via Piraeus app (Android)

Log in to Piraeus app (Android), navigate to the “Cards" section, select the card you wish to add and select Add to Google Pay.

Via Google Wallet application

  • Download the Google Wallet app from Google Play
  • Follow the instructions to add a card
  • Verify your card, if needed, by entering to the application the One Time Password (OTP) that you will receive by SMS on the mobile phone which you have declared to the Bank

How to Pay

With Google Pay, there' s no need to carry your wallet or cash. You can pay quickly and easily with your smartphone or smartwatch in stores wherever contactless payments are accepted.

Within your favorite apps and sites just choose Google Pay at checkout, confirm your purchase and you're good to go!

How are my payments protected?

You can safely make purchases by adding your cards to your Google Wallet as an encrypted virtual account number is assigned for each card you add on each device, so its actual number remains secure. Your actual card number is not stored on the device or shared with merchants.

Please note that the receipt issued after each successful Google Pay transaction you make will display the virtual account number.

Is there a charge for using Google Pay?

No, there is no charge from Piraeus Bank for the registration of its cards in Google Wallet or their use for Google Pay transactions.

Can I add any Piraeus Bank card to Google Wallet?

All Piraeus Bank Visa and Mastercard® cards (debit, credit, prepaid reloadable) for individual or business/corporate cardholders can be added to Google Pay.

How do I add a card to Google Wallet?

Add your cards by following the steps below:

A) Via the Piraeus app (Android):

  1. Log in to the Piraeus app on your Android device and visit the "Cards" section.
  2. Select the card you wish to add and then select "Add to Google Pay".
  3. Carry out your identification with your quick login and follow the steps.
  4. Read the terms of use of Piraeus Bank and if you agree, select "Accept".
  5. If required, enter the unique OTP code that you will receive by SMS on the mobile phone number you have registered with the bank.


The registration of your card in Google Wallet is completed. Repeat the same process for each of your cards that you wish to add to your Google Wallet.

B) Via the Google Wallet app:

  1. Download the Google Wallet app from the Google Play Store on your Android device.
  2. Open the Google Wallet app, select "Add to Wallet +", then select "Payment Card".
  3. Enter your card details and then click "Save and continue".
  4. Read the terms of use of Piraeus Bank and if you agree, select "Accept".
  5. Select the OTP one-time use code as the verification method if required.
  6. Enter the unique OTP code that you will receive via SMS on the mobile phone number you have registered with the bank.


Your card is now active in Google Wallet for payments with Google Pay! If you wish to add more Piraeus Bank cards to your Google Wallet, you will need to repeat the process for each card.

I haven't received my physical card yet, can I add it to Google Wallet?

No. You need to have received your card and activated it before you can add it.

How do I remove a card from Google Wallet?

Your cards are removed via the Google Wallet app. In case you wish to remove a card and then add it again, you will need to follow the process of adding a card from the beginning.

Can I see my recent transactions with Google Pay?

Yes. You can view your recent transactions at the Google Wallet app, for each of your cards on the device with which they were made.

Can I make a contactless payment with my digital wallet without my device being connected to the internet?

Yes, an internet connection is not necessary to make a contactless transaction with Google Pay. 

How do I know that my contactless transaction with Google Pay was successful?

Each transaction via Google Pay is considered complete upon issuance of a receipt, where provided, for the amount of the transaction that occurred.

How do I choose which card I want to use with Google Pay?

You can manage your cards at any time at Google Wallet and set a default card for your payments. See how here.

Do I keep the benefits of my card when I make a transaction with Google Pay?

Yes, you retain the benefits provided by each card you use.

Can I pay in interest-free installments on my card via Google Pay?

With Google Pay, you can pay in up to 12 interest-free installments on your Piraeus Visa credit card, at merchants in Greece that offer special interest-free installment programs. 

If you have a Piraeus Mastercard® credit card, for transactions with interest-free installments at the merchant’s point of sale, you can use your physical credit card. Alternatively, learn more about the “Transactions Split into Installments” service here

 

Can I use Google Wallet app on my Fitbit smartwatch?

Yes, you can use Google Wallet app on your Fitbit smartwatch to make contactless transactions where Google Pay is accepted.

Can I make contactless transactions at ATMs with Google Pay?

Yes, if your card allows ATM transactions, you can use Google Pay to make contactless cash withdrawals and balance inquiries at ATMs that have contactless transaction functionality by charging the card (in the case of credit and prepaid cards) or the card's main linked account (in the case of debit cards).

Is there a limit to the transaction amount I can use via Google Pay?

No, you can transact up to your card limit.

I can't complete adding my card to my Google Wallet, what can I do?

If for any reason you are unable to complete the process of adding your card to your Google Wallet or if you did not receive the unique OTP code sent to you by SMS, you will need to remove the card from your Google Wallet and repeat the process of adding it from the beginning.

In case you still cannot complete the process of adding, you can contact Customer Service at 210 3288000.

The physical card that I have added to Google Pay has been lost/ stolen, what should I do?

In case of theft or loss of your card, please contact Customer Service immediately at 210 3288000. Your physical card will be replaced and as soon as you receive the new one and activate it, your Google Wallet will be automatically updated without any further action required on your part.

Google Pay automatic updates exclude debit cards that are reissued due to loss, theft or damage from the bank's branches or via call center, which will require you to go through the process of adding the new card to Google Wallet.

I have requested/I am waiting for my card to be replaced, what should I do until the new natural plastic arrives? How will I make transactions with it?

In case a registered in Google Pay card is replaced, either due to expiration or upon your request due to theft, loss or damage, transactions via Google Pay may continue to be performed with it, for a limited period of time, even if the new physical card has not been activated yet. This period is defined by the Bank and is provided for your convenience and does not replace your obligation to activate the new physical card. This period is not provided for debit cards reissued due to theft, loss or damage, at Piraeus Bank branches or via call center.

My Android device or smartwatch is lost/ stolen, what should I do?

See the instructions of the service Find My Device here. In case your device had Piraeus Bank cards registered in Google Wallet for payments with Google Pay, please contact Customer Service at 210 3288000.
