What are the categories of bonds?
There are many categories of bonds that are differentiated according to their characteristics and their yields, among other things, depend on the creditworthiness of the issuer:
- Depending on the issuer, they can be governmental, corporate, transnational.
- Depending on their coupon, they can be fixed or variable rate or even without a coupon (zero coupon).
- Depending on their duration, they are divided into short-term with a duration of up to two years, medium-term with a duration of between two and ten years and long-term with a duration of more than ten years.
