At Piraeus Bank we believe that living abroad should not be a barrier to starting a partnership with us. For this reason, we have gathered all the necessary documents to start our relationship.
Gathering documents
In order to start working with us, you will first need to gather the documents that document your personal data (identity, residence address, contact phone number, financial/tax and professional data). Please note that, in the future, you may be asked for additional documents to prove the source of the funds you will send to Piraeus Bank.

If you are already a customer, you can find useful tips on how to continue your relationship with us, acquire new products and use our services.
Access to channels Piraeus e-banking
Piraeus e-banking passwords:
In order to complete your online registration, you must have an active Piraeus Bank debit card, remember its PIN and have in your possession the mobile phone you have registered with Piraeus Bank.
1. Visit www.ebanking.piraeusbank.gr and choose to log in as an individual.
2. You will automatically be redirected to the Piraeus e-banking home page. Select "Online registration".
3. On the next screen, enter your debit card number and the mobile phone number you have registered with Piraeus Bank. Press "Next ".
4. Next, enter the username you want to use to log in and your e-mail address.
To proceed to the next step, you must accept the Piraeus e-banking access agreement. Click "Next".
Note: username must be between 6-50 characters and include at least one letter and a number. It is not allowed to use a series of identical characters. For example usernames b22222222, 77777777g are not acceptable.
The use of characters with logical continuity is not allowed. For example, the usernames 123456, 654321a, abcdef, fedcba, wer1234 are not acceptable.
Advice: Don't use usernames that are easily predictable such as names, dates, phone numbers.
5. Enter the extra PIN code you received on the mobile phone you have registered and press "Next".
6. You will receive an automatic call from Piraeus Bank. In this call you will be asked to enter your debit card PIN. Immediately afterwards, you will receive on your mobile phone by SMS, the temporary password for your Piraeus e-banking login. From the moment you receive the SMS with the temporary password, you have 72 hours to log in to the service.
7. Visit www.ebanking.piraeusbank.gr and use your username & temporary password to log in.
The process is complete.
Piraeus e-banking codes reissued:
1. Visit www.ebanking.piraeusbank.gr and select to log in as an individual.
2. You will automatically be redirected to the Piraeus e-banking home page. Select "Forgot/blocked password?".
3. On the next screen, select "I have blocked my access but I remember my password and username” and click “REACTIVATE ACCESS”
4. Select your debit card type and enter the digits requested. Enter the username that you use to log in to Piraeus e-banking and finally the mobile phone number that you have registered with Piraeus Bank to receive extraPIN. Click next.
5. On the next screen, enter the extraPIN code you received by SMS on your mobile phone. Once you have received and entered the extraPIN code. Click next.
The procedure is complete.
Unlocking Piraeus e-banking when the extra PIN has been sent to an older mobile phone:

Deposit account/debit card
Opening a deposit account:
Log in to Piraeus e-banking to be able to open an online deposit account for your daily transactions or savings.
Issuance of a debit card:
For the issuance of a debit card:
1. Select from the menu Purchases & e-card applications.
2. Click "Issue Debit Card".
3. Approve the transaction via the push notification you will receive on your mobile phone.
For reissuing a debit card:
1. Select cards > My Debit Cards.
2. In the right menu select "Re-issue Debit Card".
Change debit card PIN
1. From the home screen, select the "Cards" section.
2. Then select the debit card you wish to use.
3. Select "Settings" and tap "Change PIN".
5. Be informed about the required actions and click "Next".
6. Enter and confirm the new PIN.
7. Enter the extraPIN you will receive on your mobile phone.
8. Visit a Piraeus Bank ATM and make a balance inquiry or cash withdrawal.
9. This way, the PIN change of your debit card has just been completed.
Updating data
Documents required for updating
The documents required to update your data are the same required to start your relationship with the Bank. You may use the Document Wizard to see the documents required for you.
Documents translation
Translate your documents either into Greek or English in collaboration with:
- translators certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece (digitally using taxisnet codes)
- a notary public in your country of residence
If you are not sure where to contact in your country of residence, you can call the Greek Embassy or a Greek consular office to provide you with relevant information.
Updating documents
- Via the Piraeus web banking by attaching documents, by selecting "Update Documents" in the main menu.
- Via Piraeus e-banking, without the need to attach documents, by transmitting data from the eGov-KYC online application using your personal TAXISnet codes.
- By post, by sending the documents to your partner store, or by contacting the store by telephone.
- At a Piraeus Bank branch.
It is noted that the updating of identity documents (e.g. new passport) can be done exclusively at a Piraeus Bank branch.
Service through proxy
If it is not possible for you to visit Greece, then you have the option to appoint a representative by proxy, who will visit the branch instead of you, provide all required documents and sign the necessary forms.
You will need to take the following steps:
1. Contact a relative or friend, or a lawyer in Greece, who will agree to represent you.
2. Visit, either a Greek consular office, or a notary public in your country of residence, to draw up a power of attorney and validate a copy of your passport or identity card.
It is noted that for Canada, the power of attorney can only be drawn up at the Greek Embassy and Consular Offices.
3. Ensure that the predefined text is included in the proxy
Choose the text that meets your needs:
- Power of attorney for updating data
- Power of attorney for updating data and acquiring basic banking products i.e. a deposit account, a debit card and credentials for your access to the e-banking service.
1. If you choose to have the proxy at a notary public, you should ensure that the proxy has The Hague Apostille, provided by the notary public.
2. Send all the documents required, together with the proxy and a validated copy of your passport/ ID card to your representative in Greece.
3. Your representative will present all the documents at a Piraeus bank branch. Upon completion of documents’ checks, your representative will sign all the necessary forms. Please note that you will also need to be available by phone, in order to complete the required processes.
