How do I install the Piraeus app?

I forgot / blocked my Piraeus e-banking password

If you have activated the SMS extraPIN feature and you know your username but don't remember your password, you can reissue your password by starting the process from here.

In any case, password reissuance continues to be provided through the bank's branch network.

Data and documentation of individual customers per case

For Greek citizens:

  • Identity Card or
  • Valid passport or
  • Identity card of persons serving in the Security Corps and the Armed Forces  

For European Union (EU) citizens:

  • Valid passport or
  • EU citizenship card (bilingual and in Latin characters)

Non-EU Citizens:

  • Valid passport or
  • Foreigner's Identity Card (issued by Hellenic Police) or
  • Special ID Card for persons of ethnic Greek descent (issued by Hellenic Police) and
  • Residence permit (in case you live permanently in Greece)
  • Last tax statement (Administrative Tax Determination Act) for a Greek citizen or a citizen of an OECD country
  • A certificate of no obligation to submit a tax return by the relevant provisions of the Income Tax Code (presented for the certification of income and not of the VAT number) or
  • Tax residency certificate (presented by EU citizens or citizens of OECD countries (in order to certify the VAT registration number)

Current home address

  • A recent energy or telecommunications or water or landline phone bill (for international residents); or
  • Home premises lease contract, filed to a tax office or certificate of residence by the public authority of the country of residence (presented by foreign citizens)

Telephone number

  • Recent telecommunications or mobile phone bills or
  • A certification of a mobile telephony operator or mobile telephony representative or
  • Mobile operator contract

Occupation and current business address

  • Certificate from an employer or
  • A copy of the latest salary statement or
  • A valid Professional Identity Card (issued by a professional association in the form of the legal entity under public law) or
  • Declaration of commencement of business or 
  • Social Insurance Institution Receipt or
  • Business premises lease contract, filed to a tax office

Notes:

1. Natural Persons are defined as Private Customers, Self-employed Persons and Sole Traders. 

2. Documents presented for the certification of customer data must have a recent date of issue and the recent date of issue of documents other than identity cards is defined as:

  • the current tax/financial year for the Administrative Tax Determination Act or the solemn declaration of no obligation to submit a tax return
  • the date of issue for documents such as telephone bills, electricity bills, energy certificates, business certificates, etc., must be within the last six months
  • other documents as appropriate
  • for any document for which there is an expiry date, it is valid until that date has passed

3. For foreign residents, the documents certifying the data must be translated into Greek or English and certified by the Greek Embassy or the Greek Consulate or the Notary Public of the country in question or by an official Greek Public Authority.

Data and documentation of Legal Persons Customers' by case

The identity of Legal Persons of any form (companies, associations, organizations, foundations, etc.), domestic and foreign, is done by presenting the appropriate legal and tax documents, in order to establish:

  • the company's name
  • the registered head office
  • the purpose
  • the manner of representation of the Legal Person
  • its shareholder composition

Note: The Legal Persons' income and tax residence(s) shall be evidenced by producing the appropriate tax documents.

At the same time, full certification and verification of the identity of any individual customers connected to the Legal Entity is required, i.e:  

  • the legal representatives and
  • the shareholders or beneficial owners, as indicated either by the legal documents or by the relevant declaration of the company's legal representative, in cases where such a declaration is required under the applicable procedures

Note: For the above individual customers, the certification of their income through a tax return is not required, but the declaration and verification of their tax residence may be required.
